City of Austin's Small Business Development Program and Huston-Tillotson University are co-sponsoring a panel discussion called "Exploring Entrepreneurship" 9:30-11 a.m. April 17. The event is free to the public.
This candid panel discussion is designed to inspire and inform aspiring entrepreneurs about the joys and challenges of being an entrepreneur. Three successful local business owners will share lessons learned on their own respective entrepreneurial journeys:
Cloteal Davis Haynes
Cloteal Davis Haynes is the Managing Partner and Co-Owner of Haynes-Eaglin-Waters, LLP (HEW). Established in February 1988, HEW provides general construction, construction management and project management services primarily for public sector projects. Ms. Haynes also provides consulting services to companies and government entities that seek to maximize diversity in the construction of public and private projects.
Darrell W. Pierce
Mr. Pierce is currently the CEO of SNAP Management Group, Inc. Services provided by SNAP include consulting services with a focus on facilitation, process management, action planning, streamlining and re-engineering processes, establishing business controls, and determining best practices. Mr. Pierce has over 18 years direct experience in each of the aforementioned areas.
Marcía Williams is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, she founded MWA Public Relations more than 10 years ago, and focuses on community and media relations with an emphasis on cause marketing. Marcía, who considers herself a "social entrepreneur," passes that knowledge on to her clients as well as to youth through the non-profit organization she founded.
The panel discussion will take place in Huston-Tillotson University's Agard - Lovinggood (A-L) Building Auditorium at 900 Chicon Street in Austin. Registration is not required.
