6. They want to save money vs other solutions.
Cloud-based office solutions are taking the world of enterprise by storm, due to the money and time saved by moving maintenance and hosting fees to the cloud. Google Apps is already far easier and cheaper to manage than a traditional, on-site server system, and anything that gives the IT less headaches and allows the people working to better focus on their jobs is generally considered a good thing.
Google Apps also compares favorably to its primary rival, Office 365- while their base pricing starts the same, at $5/user/mo, Google Apps allows a flexible monthly plan while Office 365 requires a full year's committment. Makign the full year committment with Google Apps also gives a significant discount.
In addition, while Office 365's base per-user storage amount (1 TB) is better than Google's (at 30 GB), upgrading Google's plan gives unlimited storage, while Office 365 remains at 1TB regardless of plan. This is a major deal for Internet companies dealing with larger files, such as video.
5. They appreciate the simpler pricing model.
Finagling your way through a traditional enterprise system can be a headache. Apps and Office 365 are both better in this regard, but Office 365 has six different packages- Apps simplifies this with a $5 and $10 package. The base model is slightly worse in terms of storage, but the $10 package is easily better than Microsoft's, especially for businesses focused in the cloud.

This is a big one, and why you may not see older, larger companies investing in Google Apps. Office 365 sacrifices some cloud benefits for being a "hybrid" solution, while Google Apps is comparitively more jarring, requiring a full switch to the cloud and Google's apps. For some businesses, it's simply easier to stay on an old system or move to a more familiar hybrid system than take a full plunge to Google's cloud. The price of training can be a headache for older businesses, but this is less of a concern for newer businesses that aren't invested in Microsoft.

In addition to Google allowing potentially unlimited storage, all of Google Apps is focused around taking advantage of cloud computing. This means cloud storage, all data being accessible from every device, and compatibility with things like Android devices and Chromebooks. Office 365, as mentioned prior, is a hybrid solution, and other office solutions are focused wholly on on-premises. For users who want to take full advantage of the cloud's features, Google Apps is simply the best choice to make in this category.
2. They're a younger, more tech-savvy company.
This ties into a few previous entries. Statistically speaking, newer tech-savvy companies lean more toward Google Apps than Office 365. The reason is that this generation is more used to the Internet and web-based applications, as opposed to the traditional systems of telco PBX and on-site servers for storage and emails. Younger employees are simply better suited for adopting cloud-based Google Apps, instead of sticking with "the old ways".
1. They're more familiar with Google services.
This is the one that ties it together. Google took the world by storm with Gmail and Google Documents when those respective products released- for many millenials now entering the business world, their first email service was Gmail and their first experience with cloud office software was Google Docs, now Google Drive. This familiarity means they have no reason to use other solutions, and they're already trained for web-based apps.
In addition, Google services integrate well with devices like the Chromebook, a low-cost computer running just Chrome OS. The Chromebook is making big waves in education and business alike for that reason, and its prominence in education is quite likely to result in businesses of the future favor Google Apps even more.
